MEET OUR
NEW COACHES
Due to our fast growth, we have recently had the privilege
of introducing five new coaches to join our team.
Milan Kantor, a Sports Science Graduate and former Czech international swimmer. Jaime Forero, a former Columbian National Record Holder and Jaime coaches National and European Level Triathletes. Natasha Slabas, former Surrey County Freestyle Champion and competitive Masters swimmer. Andy Harrison, a Sports Science and biomechanical specialist, former swimmer who now competes in Triathlon at the ITU Long Distance World Triathlon Championships. Noel Sullivan, a National level swimmer who has been Head Coach to various teams and A.S.A. Assistant Regional Development Officer for the South East.
Such a competitive background gives all our coaches the advantage in better coaching knowledge and demonstrations in the water as they can perform swimming skills to a high level themselves.
Congratulations to Daz Parker, a member of the Strictly Swimming Coaching team for over 2 years, who last month in Hawaii added the World Amateur Xterra Triathlon Title to her achievements. The Xterra off road triathlon World Championships are held every year and comprise of two 750 metre rough sea swims (with a run in between) then onto the Mountain bike and heading straight up Mount Haleakala onto sharp lava rock, climbing over 3000 feet in the relentless heat and 90% humidity (Obviously not for the faint hearted!) Following a down-hill section full of 'drop offs', rocks and dust, Daz reached over 30 mph...then after two hours of climbing on the bike, on came the run shoes and up the volcanic mountain again. Daz had to navigate through beaches, forests, more lava rock and many other natural obstacles to finish in 3 hours and 30 minutes (taking 30 minutes off her time from the previous year). Daz comments, “It was a hard race. But I loved it anyway, especially when the local journalist grabbed me and told me I had won the overall World Amateur Title. I recommend any off road triathlon to anyone who wants adventure and a challenge! I will turn professional for the next season with three races in Japan in March, except for the Worlds were I plan to defend my title”.
